The Lafourche Parish Game and Fish Commission (Commission) has authority to issue permits for camp leases within the Lake Field/Lake Long
Game and Fish Preserve (Preserve). A total of 98 camp leases have been granted along Folse Canal (Camp Canal) and Bayou Dumar.
Leased property for camps are based upon 50 feet by 100 feet (front footage) lengths. Effective January 2010, new 10-year camp leases will be
granted at an annual rate of $1.50 per front foot. The Commission may charge the prevailing rate for camp leases.
The lease document contains information concerning the lease fee, obligations
of the lessee, and other information.
The Commission is marking unleased camp lots and by this summer will have a lottery for camp lots to lease. The frontage on these new leases will
100 feet. Individuals wishing to particpate in the camp lot lottery should notify the Commission.
